Why it’s used
Ventolin Tablet is used to prevent & treat wheezing, narrowing of the airways (bronchospasm), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, and coughing caused by lung diseases such as asthma, and long-term obstructive pulmonary disease. It is a prescription medicine. This medicine works by relaxing and opening the muscles of the airways. Ventolin is also used to treat damaged and enlarged air sacs of the lungs and long-term inflammation of the bronchial tubes.
Ventolin belongs to a class of medicines called Beta2-Adrenergic Agonists. Beta2 adrenergic receptor agonists are primarily used to treat asthma and other lung-related disorders, such as Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It leads to relaxation of smooth muscle in the lungs, dilation and opening of the airways
Symptoms of an overdose of Ventolin
If you use too much of this medicine, it could lead to dangerous levels of the medicine in your body. In such cases, symptoms of an overdose may include:
- chest pain
- difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
- dizziness
- dry mouth
- excessive tiredness
- fast or irregular heartbeat
- headache
- lack of energy
- low levels of potassium in the blood
- nausea
- nervousness
- seizures
- uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body
