PHARMACOLOGY
Zevit is a multivitamin formulation, unique in nature. It is a capsule with oil-soluble Vitamin A & Vitamin E in soy oil, and a floating tablet with a hydrophobic coating containing vitamins and minerals with Ginseng.
The unique flow-fit capsule has a thermo-sealed band, ensuring on leakage of the capsule. The hydrophobic coating ensures no reaction of the oil with the tablet. All vitamins stay in their natural state.
Indications
ZEVIT contains, as its active ingredients, balanced amounts of all the important vitamins, essential minerals, and trace elements. Vitamins are essential substances that are supplied to the body in food. Minerals are indispensable for the metabolism and for growth and regeneration of the (for instance, for bones, blood, etc).
Finally, trace elements are vital substances which are required by the body in minute quantities but which are not always supplied in the daily food in adequate amounts.
ZEVIT is used for the prevention and rapid elimination of general vitamin deficiencies.
ZEVIT is used when there is an increased need for vitamins and minerals, particularly during illness, in times of particular exertion and when increased performance is required.
ZEVIT is recommended whenever a deficiency of vitamins and minerals is at risk of developing: during convalescence after illness or surgery, in debilitated elderly patients, when you have to take antibiotics if you want or have to keep to a special diet, or chronic alcoholism and unbalanced diet.
ZEVIT is obtainable as capsules. The capsules are best swallowed whole with some liquid during meals.

When must ZEVIT not be taken?
PRECAUTIONS
You must not take ZEVIT if you are already receiving too much vitamin A or D (hypervitaminosis A or D), if you are taking other preparations containing these vitamins, or if you are undergoing treatment with retinoid (for example, to treat acne).
If you experience an allergic reaction while taking ZEVIT, discontinue its use.
When should you be especially careful while taking ZEVIT?
PRECAUTIONS
It is possible to have too much vitamin A or D.
This may be the case with ZEVIT if you take amounts equivalent to several times the recommended daily dose over a prolonged period; unless otherwise instructed by your doctor, you should never take more than the recommended daily dose of one capsule.
Make sure your doctor or pharmacist knows if you.
-Are suffering from other illnesses.
-Have allergies, or are taking other medicines (including non-prescription drugs).
May ZEVIT be taken during pregnancy or while breast-feeding?
PRECAUTIONS
If you keep to the recommended dosage, there are no objections to taking ZEVIT during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
During the first three months of pregnancy, however, you should refrain from taking any medicine at all, unless prescribed by your doctor.
Interactions
Adverse Effects
If you keep to the recommended dosage, no serious side effects are to be expected, ever if ZEVIT is taken over a period of several months.
You may occasionally notice a slight yellow discoloration of you urine.
This effect is completely harmless and is due to the vitamin B2 contained in the preparation.
Dosage & Administration
One capsule per day is sufficient unless the doctor prescribes a different dose for you.
You can also take the recommended daily dosage of ZEVIT for a prolonged period of time.
You must keep to the dose indicated in the package insert or prescribed by your doctor.
Storage/Handling Recommendations
The capsules should be stored in a dry place and at a temperature below 25°C.
The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be taken after the expiry date (EXP) shown on the pack.
